Comme Hamlet

Teaser of Comme Hamlet the film,  Comme Hamlet is an abstract dance journey travelling through the tormented mind of an unstable individual. Loosely based on the classic play, the film takes us on a ride of incest, passion, violence and paranoid schizophrenia. Created and completely shot within the walls of Le Gesù, a functioning church in Montréal, QC, Canada. What is real and what is only taking place within the mind of this ‘Hamlet’? What is madness to each one of us? This dance/theatre film, is a story of a flawed individual who wreaks havoc on the people around him.

Rupture,

This was a dance video that I choreographed with director Guillaume Paquin based on a couple having an affair and the fact that this relationship will end in heartbreak. The music is by Martha Wainwright. Dancers are Chanti Wadge and Peter Trotzmer

Interiors,

A choreographic dance research residency project that took place at Le Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault (now Circuit-Est) located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 2001. Collaborated with dancer Carol Prieur, lighting designer/set construction Armando Gomez-Rubio, and composer Kevin Young. It was supported by the Canada Council for the Arts research grant. Interiors is based on a surrealistic Beckett-like world of two individuals dealing with time, space, and each other. Videography and montage by Claude Lemay.

This Year’s Love Made Last Year,

Created this dance study in about 4 hours with dancers Anna Finkel and Michael Caldwell in Ottawa. Wanted to explore some lyrical aspects which are simple and yet somewhat satisfying to watch. Yes it is a love duet I guess. Added on the David Gray’s song This Year’s Love for a more romantic effect. Will be performing this at the Off-FTA festival in Montreal on May 21, 2009 with Victoria May and myself dancing this time.
